What is it?
Rheumatoid Arthritis is a chronic
autoimmune disease in which the body's immune
system attacks healthy tissue lining the joints.
It affects about three million Americans.
Treatment
In the 1990s, the treatment of
rheumatoid arthritis changed significantly, as
researchers developed medications to treat this
disease. Nonsteroidal Antiinflammatory Drugs and
COX-2 Inhibitors are usually prescribed to treat
rheumatoid arthritis.
